01/06/08 - After a loooong downtime due to a glitch and me subsequently forgetting about the site, the Topic Archives are back online!
08/04/07 - Page navigation is here! Now you can easily browse through multiple pages of a topic by clicking on the appropriate links while viewing a submission.
02/22/07 - Wow. First update since September of last year. Nothing big. I've finally gotten around to graying out months that do not have any contributions currently posted on the archives index. This means that I can now remove the "Current months available" list from the index, which is a huge plus for myself since updating it constantly was annoying.
09/17/06 - In an effort to draw more attention to the Topic Archives, all accounts created at YA RLY Lite may now be used at this site. New accounts will automatically be given this universality, but accounts created prior to September 17, 2006 here and September 14 at YA RLY Lite will need to be upgraded. You may do so by clicking here.
08/12/06 - Time issues have been sorted out and now you can search for contributions. The search feature is located on the bottom of Topic Archives Index page.
08/11/06 - And we're back in action. The issues have been sorted out, so everything is back to normal (excluding dates, which are not appearing for whatever reason). I'll be adding a few new features over the weekend and throughout next week, as well.
08/08/06 - There was a really bad incident that occurred yesterday as I was working on something, resulting in the loss of the header file for the Topic Archives. The header file is essential for having everything on the site. I was able to recreate a new one, but there are a lot of new issues brought on by this that I have yet to resolve. As a result, I've turned the Topic Archives offline, as I continue repairing the problems caused by the accidental deletion of the header. Don't worry - we should be back online shortly. I'm definitely not giving up on this project anytime soon, so don't even begin to think that this is the beginning of the end for the Topic Archives.
06/14/06 - First update since last month. Nothing too major, contributors can now see their total votes and voting average for each particular contribution of theirs. Admins get to see that for every contribution :P
05/21/06 - Now that the archives are up and running, I've had time to focus on minor glitches and annoyances, as well as adding a few extra features:
  • That annoying "Division by zero" notice is gone. - If you did not have any contributions posted in the archives, an error showed up warning you that a division by zero was being made where your vote average was supposed to show up. Of course, that's illegal in the rules of math, so it's easy to see why that occurred. Anyway, that notice is now gone - if you have received at least one vote, your true vote average will show up while if you haven't, your vote average is 0.
  • Latest contributions - As suggested by Base, our number one contributor by the way, I've included a new feature in the Topic Archives index page - latest contributions. It makes it much easier to find the newest contributions, since you don't have to rely on the "New contributions for such and such month have been posted" notice that I'll be too forgetful to update every time I accept a new contribution.
  • Top Contributors - Self-explanatory, this page shows the top ten contributors for the Topic Archives, as well as their total number of accepted contributions. Of course, there's only four contributors at the moment (<______<), so get your friends to sign up now!
  • You can now view your and others' contributions directly from the contribution history page - All contributions are now linked to in the contribution history page. I realized it was quite silly not to have had this feature before so I added it after making the Top Contributors and Latest Contributions features.
  • Minor edit to the voting feature - Now, you can only vote on a contribution ONCE. In the end, this is good for everybody - the person receiving the vote and the person giving the vote. In the past, you were able to vote as many times as you felt like on a single contribution. Thankfully, no one really noticed, which means nobody went around votespamming contributions. Now, the voting script checks to see if you've already voted for that particular contribution. If the check returns true (as in you have voted), your old vote will be changed to your new vote. If the check returns false, your vote will be entered into the database. Contributors don't have to worry about people screwing with their votes and voters can change their votes at their discretion without having a drastic effect on the contributor's voting average.
05/17/06 - BIIIG update. First and foremost, the Topic Archives are in beta mode. They are about 95% completed at the moment. There are just a few more things that need to be done. Anyone can view the archives, but registered members will be able to vote on links, rating it anywhere from a 1 (lowest) to a 10. Members can also report bad links for administrators (and possibly staff members, in the future) to review and take appropriate action on. Secondly, there wasn't any problem with the file uploads. That "delay" I told you all about a few days ago wasn't because the files themselves were taking long to upload, it was because my stupid FTP manager was taking long to refresh. >_<
05/15/06 - Third same day update in a row! Anyway, there was actually nothing wrong with the file update form, save for a restrictive limitation that made it impossible to contribute screenshots. File uploads just take a LOOOOONG time to actually, you know, be uploaded <_<. Anyhow, Contribution Form is re-opened and that pesky limit's been removed.
05/15/06 - Turns out the file upload form is a bit glitchy - it works about 40% of the time, so I have to do a little extra work on it. The contribution form will be down for a little while the necessary maintenance takes place. Sorry for the inconvienience :(
05/14/06 - Hey, our second same-day update in a row! Guess what? You can finally contribute content to the archives. Now, don't get too excited yet; you can contribute, but there isn't a contribution review page up at the moment, so your contribution will sit there in the queue. But at least you can actually submit material now!
05/14/06 - A few "exploits" (read: stupid coding errors) have been fixed and the "Preview message" button on the forums is now working. I'll be starting on the archives (FINALLY!) later on today. By the way, I forgot to mention that I finally got the board editor functioning properly yesterday.
05/13/06 - First same day update! Whoo! Discussion Forums are completed, everything (except for a nasty little glitch with the "Preview message" button) is working perfectly. Start posting now!
05/13/06 - The Discussion Forums are *almost* completed. Everything's up and all, only problem is that the forms are not working properly...I'll probably figure it out before the night's end.
05/11/06 - I haven't really felt motivated to work on this as of late...I'll probably try to complete the discussion forums by the end of the week. In other news, the great archive site The GFA has been suspended o_o. This, only a week or so, after the site was planning on undergoing a major update. Huh.
05/07/06 - Yay ^_^! I've finally completed all the non-archive related pages. I am a bit sad though, because the board editor is not functioning properly (or rather, at all :S), but I'll have that fixed eventually. Now I can finally start on the most important parts of the site - the archives! Registration will soon be opened to the public, so stay tuned...
05/06/06 - User list completed, contribution queue completed, updates editor completed, and board editor completed.
05/05/06 - Contribution history page completed, working on the administrative files now.
05/04/06 - Decided to scrap the statistics page and have the statistics displayed on the account management page. Vote history page completed.
05/03/06 - Control Panel completed, preferences pages completed, statistics pages started.
05/02/06 - Help Files, account management and profiles pages completed. Tomorrow, I'll start making the admin control panel.
05/01/06 - Terms of Service created, Help Files halfway completed, and I've finally figured out why I couldn't refresh without staying logged in...>_>.
04/30/06 - It seems like I started this project ten years ago o_o. A lot of progress made today. Database finally set up, header is completed, and there are now registration and log in/out pages.
04/29/06 - Topic Archives site online, no database set up yet. Configuration file is completed and the header should be done by tomorrow.
